Electric Mobility Chair and Wheelchair Walks around Auckland as at 6 August 2004.

Recreational walks that are suitable for people using electric chairs or wheelchair.

Waitakere

The information we currently hold about walkways does not indicate this type of usablility. This is an area we will be addressing over by mid 2005 and this information will be available on the Internet site.

There are walkways in the following parks:
· Parrs Park,
· Harbour View,
· Waimanu Bay,
· Paremuka (although this walkway is metal, but flat, beside the railway line), and the
· Henderson Trail is concreted from Cranwell Park through to Waitakere Stadium.

Rodney
They have a brochure "Rodneys Walkways\' and in this they have highlighted the walks called.
· Sandspit Spit Sandspit Road, Sandspit 45 mins on boardwalks
· Snells Beach Beachfront Reserve Snells Beach Road, Walkway along northern half of beachfromt starting at the carpark
· Goodall Reserve, Cnr Hamatana & Maurangi Rd Snells Beach, 45-60 mins A circular walk around Snells Beach Reserve
· Alice Eaves Scenic Reserve, Old North Rd Orewa 45 mins Lower track beside Nukumea Stream to Puriri Park.
· Orewa Marine Parade Reserve, S.H. 1/Hibiscus Coast Highway, Orewa Paved trail along northern half of beachfront reserve
· Orewa Estuary, Riverside Rd & Orewa Beach. 45-60 mins. Start by Visitor Information Centre.
· Amorino Reserve, S.H. 1/Hibiscus Coast Highway Red Beach. 15-30min Walkway in reserve beside Orewa estuary
· Orewa, East Ave - Tiri Ave clifftop. 15 mins. Next 33 Tiri Rd – End of East Ave Little Manly
· Whanaparoa Town Center to Stanmore Bay Beach.
