The assessment of pedestrian access from Pitt St to Freemans Bay School over Wellington St overbridge was discussed and some changes to be made including disability issues, safety of pedestrians at Nelson St and ‘what does Walk Auckland stand for’ etc

The project on ‘Red Light Runners’ has been granted funds from the City Council. Students will be collecting the data but we need supervisors from Walk Auckland. Are you available in the 2 weeks from May 5? Hours are 8am to 9.30am and 3.00pm to 5.00pm. Contact Andy or Marie

The upgrade of Queen St is a chance to ease cars out, make part of Q St a pedestrian mall and so discourage vehicles using it as a throughway

The Arch Hill bush walk is complete. The Kepa Rd walk needs some signposts

Phoebe Falconer’s Get Moving Column in Herald re pedestrians crossing Great North Rd at Western Springs – ‘a crossing or traffic lights will make it too hard for the driver’ was reply from transport department!
