WA has been asked to join. After discussion it was decided that we should support initially and maybe join later if no fees required

WA will give “Conditional Agreement” and list the following problems for pedestrians
1. rights to wander
2. access for all e.g wheelchair access

Graeme showed photo of pedestrian shelters in Wellington. Suggested we could use similar in Auckland
All committee members to identify positions for shelters in Auckland
Marie reported on “Safe As!” meeting aheld at Manukau.
Road safety issues identified were
Speed- respect for the law/peer pressure in the young
Young Drivers -Training/parent involvement/skills
Alcohol – elders give better example to youth/ lower the limit
