Andy, Graeme attended the ARC meeting ‘Proposed formation of a Regional Pedestrian Reference Group’ – Andy summed up "positive outcome"
Kit attended Eco-Conference. The subject of the Land Transport Management Bill came up. ‘Social and environmental factors’ aspect of this bill is inclusive of pedestrians. The vehicle transportation lobby is trying to erode the provisions of the bill before it is finally passed.
We should raise this at the LTSA meeting.
Agreed we should arrange a meeting with Helen Clarke to show our support for the bill as it stands.
Marie to make contact with PM. Can phone Joan Caufield, HC’s right hand woman in Akld, 815 0528 to make this appointment.

WA website update – up and running. Take a look!
Andy: Federal Street, Wilson’s Carpark, sandwich boards blocking pavement. Took action to have them moved and succeeded.
Hoods reported to Claire Dixon on pedestrians on Ponsonby Rd, having done a personal "survey", copy in records.
Potential action, whitewash footprints, good for a future action, also poss. for Claire to use in her campaign. Possible action with designed "flag".
WA involvement with Claire’s project. Possibility of survey? Discussed a poss. role play, culminating in pedestrian casualties. Public art is a good way to catch people’s attention if done well.
